Shiitake Mushrooms Glazed in Soy Sauce and Grain Syrup

Ingredients

· 10 Shiitake Mushrooms

· 2T Traditional Soy Sauce

· 1T Perilla Oil

· 2T Grain Syrup

· 1C Water

· 1T Sesame Seed Oil

Remove stems of the shiitake mushrooms. Quickly wash the prepared shiitake mushrooms in the running water.

Prepare the steamer until filled with steam. Steam the prepared shiitake mushrooms in the steamer for a short period of time.

Add the soy sauce, water and perilla oil to a pan, boil, add the prepared shiitake mushrooms and reduce half a volume. Put the reduction onto the mushrooms in the middle using a spoon.

When the mixture is reduced by a half, add the grain syrup and reduce the heat. Put the reduction onto the mushrooms in the middle using a spoon. When properly glazed, turn off the heat.

Coat the glazed mushrooms with the sesame seed oil and serve.
